MUCHO HOME-TOUR

House tours are a trendy way to show your decorating skills.
As a Blogger, Interior Decorator,Graphics Designer, Prof Stager and Event Stylist, Artisan and Prop Maker....phewww! I can say that decorating my home is an ongoing affair, I never stop decorating, I don't need a reason to decorate and I change my mind every few months so nothing I do is too permanent but one thing is for sure, I love rustic, vintage and all Brocante as you will see...

Let's star in the family room.

The two bird pictures showcased below are originals...one of the perks of being a graphic artist and a fearless, self-proclaimed mix-media freak is that I'm not afraid of trying mixing both, creativity and skills.

Mixing them with other similar theme artwork makes a beautiful collage of 6 which works great for covering large empty walls like the one above my  sofa.

Oh, did I mentioned I L.O.V.E wrought iron too!!

Elegantly holding my heirloom photos is a vintage, brass music sheet holder I bought at a garage sale last summer for about $12... First Prized to the best second-hand purchase for 2013!

A couple of collage style frame, well balanced and adorned with meaningful items like the family rosary and my dad’s old alarm clock and there you have it! a sentimental display right in the middle of your home for everyone to admire and you to cherish.

I love the contrasting clashing of dark's and light's and the Baroque  architectural curves and personalities of animals and fruits such as pineapples and lions.

As you may very well see here, I like the feel of gracefully aged organic materials such as ceramic, linen, burlap, stone, wood...

and I really enjoy that "old garden" look around the house...
and I display a lot of family pictures in diverse, fun ways throughout to express my deep love and respect for those I live for, my family.

(the guy reflected on the window isn't a ghost...is my husband watching TV....hehehe)

I don't feel comfortable around the formality of matching sets, I mix and match mainly because I play by ear when it comes to what's gonna be brought inside the house as I find it.

This was taken just last week during the Holidays.

I kept my Christmas decor very traditional to make it blend the rest of the old French country feel and I gave it a bit of sparkle just by using clear lights and greenery over the window frames.

t!!...its already January 11th and I'm having a hard time taking festive decor down.... :0(

Even when I started decorating the day after Halloween, I know-I know, terrible!

Dinning room tour
This is my World Inspired Dinning Room.
This room lacks natural light, that's why I kept the color palette light and neutral.
As you can see in these pictures, I love the rough, edgy feel of old-like decoration item such as carved wood elephants and faces, it helps with that Old World feel as well.

I painted the Chandelier also, I thought it was "too light" for the room so I aged it by dry brushing some brownish gold to it and dangling pearly beads and crystals.

The Buffet furniture is very elegant and it suits the dinning set pretty nicely although it isn't a set, not even close, that's what I call "perfect contrast".

The second buffet table is darker but it also blends well with the table, specially with those gorgeous carvings on the chairs.
I added just the right amount of color by hanging a beautiful piece of art work as a backdrop for the buffet which as you can see it serves as a small bar.

I hope you enjoyed and got inspired by my decorating style. If you have any suggestions, please don't hesitate to letting me know by writing me a comment!!
