DIY - DECOUPAGED MIRROR TUTORIAL
Mirror, mirror on the...tray?
I love the romantic, delicate looks of trays like this one!
I was looking for one but couldn't find it until I walked into my friend Stephanie's house one day and there it was, shiny and pretty, on her table top waiting to be...altered!!

Stephanie didn't hesitate to let it go and I didn't reject it when she offered :0)

MUCHO DECORATING EMPTY SPACES
Decorating an empty space can be a very practical skill.
The trick lays on mantainting a balanced feel and uncompromising functionality without distracting the practical aspect of the area in question....ok, ok lets not get so technical and see it for yourselves...

Plaster-Paint too!!
Paint is paint, is paint, or so they say..
I say, paint alone is boring!!
MAKE YOUR OWN CHALK/PLASTER PAINT!
The "plaster paint" revolution has taken over the re-done furniture world but you don't have to spend hundreds in designers paint...

I'm going to let the world know for once and all that chalk-paint is a form of plaster paint and that one can make it for a small fraction of retail cost of "fancy chalk paint" with one cheap and easy to find ingredient...

DIY - CORRODED METAL LOOK -TUTORIAL
This weathered metal letter isn't really rusted, its not even metal for that matter... it's just a plastic letter I bought at Michaels for $3 bucks but you couldn't tell until you pick it up and realize how light in weight it is.
This is how I did it...
DIY - BRACKETS ON TOP - TUTORIAL
For once, the brackets are the ones ON TOP, or at least for this project!!
Sometimes, the bracket can be better looking than the items it supports and that's why I refused putting my beautiful, country style, porch wood brackets under anything..... no sir, this time they go ON TOP!!
DIY - CURING/SEASONING A CHALKBOARD - TUTORIAL -
I'm curing my chalkboard!
A chalkboard needs to be cured to avoid engraving permanent marks but if you're anything like me you probably thought chalkboards were all ready to use when you first bring them from the store right? well, no! they're not...why??

BOOK OF SPELLS PROP
DIY - Halloween project III
A great looking prop to bring your Halloween display to the next level.
This "book of spells" is merely a hard cover little book about dog tricks, but no one would know that, specially when the creepy cover is enough to turn any prospect reader away.
If you're really motivated to create something different this Halloween, be my guest!

DIY EYEBALLS BEADS

Another quick project to ad even more impact to your Halloween decor display. Your trick or treaters will love it!
I had some large white beads I knew I wasn't going to need for jewelry so I turned them in to eyeballs for my front door display.
The idea was simple...make an impact without creating a goofy feel, so I paired them with my beautiful apothecary bottles and a decorated spooky bag and they look absolutely cute and scary at the same time.
This is how I did it!...
HALLOWEEN APOTHECARY BOTTLES
SPOOOOKY!
What a fun and easy project this was!!...
I've been collecting apothecary bottles all year but I wasn't sure what for until I saw them on the stores decorated as props for Halloween. I figured it would be easy to make them myself so I browsed on the net for ideas on how to apply designs onto glass with texture and guess what I found...
....Hot glue and paint!!
My DIY will show you exactly how to do it...
DIY - SHABBY DREAM CATCHER - TUTORIAL
A Dream Catcher is whimsical on its own...
...but this dream catcher has also a romantic vintage feel too, kinda like a clash of styles but at the end, it worked!
SUMMER REVELATIONS

Normality returns to my house yet another year, kids back to school, husband working normal hours and guests gone back to their respective homes :0(
... I'll miss them!!
The highlight of this summer was yet another great photo-shoot. In this one, my daughter in law Amy, my niece Leyre and my daughter Destiny.
This is something I love to do not only because of the effect that causes on them, its so uplifting and self-empowering seeing yourself on a photograph looking like a model... and although that alone is very encouraging to me I also look for the chance to engage on new craft projects.
As much as I like to take all the credit for the ALWAYS outstanding results, it is the photographers talent what makes it an event to remember in a tangible way. Their photos become our proof, our pride on paper. These photographs were taken by two great friends (mother and daughter) who take enormous pride for their craft and without objections took this DIY photo-shoot session to another level, thanks Stephanie and Jo-Anne!!!
ALso, thanks to my dear friend Barbara Floyd who took great care of the model's hair and powdered their noses every 5 minutes, gracias Barb!
Without further due, here are the pics!!
A WHIMSICAL CRAFT
Paula Robinson's Glass Garden Totems
Here we are, Paula (in red) and me, two crafty gals trying effortlessly to inspire others through creations purely made from the heart. Paula's whimsical glass garden totems are simply magical,
they really take your breath away!
you wonder why people discard their glassware in such abundance when it can be used in such regal manner, at the same time, you're also glad that people like Paula find them before mishandled beyond repair!!
This little Britt lady isn't only funny, kind and talented, she's generous at heart too, in the winter months she spends a great amount of time knitting scarfs that selflessly hands out to the underprivileged.......what a wonderful way to share your talent and your time...
I heard about her in many conversations before through a friend of mine but I'm glad I got to know her personally and I really hope I can spend time with her in hopes that her talents will somehow be contagious...
GRAND OPENING OF Burlap & Lace
The Grand opening of Burlap & Lace has arrived!
And what fun that was...
The evening was filled with excitement!
This gathering gave me the chance to see the faces of a few old friends and many new ones too. Everyone brought a little of their own uniqueness sharing their stories and showing their personalities with the rest of us and that, my friends, is what made this event a success!!
A good friend of mine, Barbara Floyd, invited her friend Paula Robinson over to display her talents as well and she brought the most amazing Garden's glass ornament pieces and costume jewelry....what an impressive crafty gal she is!!!
My good friend Stephanie Jukes (http://jukesphotography.com) brough her cameras and took these amazing pictures of my Shed-Boutique. Thanks Steph!!

PAPER GIFT TAGS
One-Of-A-Kind handmade Gift Tags.
I've always had a special fascination for paper... as a kid I spent hours cutting, gluing and mistreating paper of all kind, including book pages which got me in trouble a few times...
My first crafting recollection was an outlined fish filled with colorful crepe paper balls that I carefully scrunched and over glued onto a saggy piece of bristol board.
I got an A on that project!
For these tags I used a paper puncher to cut the tag and perfect circled shapes, I then stamped, inked, jewelled and embellished them in many different ways

BEADED CHEESE KNIFE
The original utensil came with bulky, acrylic beads than I easily replaced with some of my favorite Pandora-Style Beads I had from my "day"s in Pandora's world...
I sold many Pandora Style jewelry in my days and I used only the finest replicas, silver plated cores, real glass and ceramic beads and always stunning colour combinations.
Today I'm selling these ornamented cheese knifes at $18.00/piece and I even made cute Little burlap bags to put them in and present them as unique, fine gifts.
